Symptoms
1. Backup stopped: Failed to connect to backup set source
During backup process. It may happens for all kinds of backup.
2. Cannot connect to the specified DS-MLR Service.
Backup stopped: Failed to connect to backup set source
3. Error is reported during AS400 backup: Backup Stopped: Failed to connect to backup set source.
Edit the backup set to browse the objects. No objects found in the selected items.
Cause
1. Can not connect the backup set source. It might because of network problem, configuration not match or some other issue
2. DS-Recovery autoupgrade failure
3. This is probably related to the special characters as indicated in the support matrix for AS400 backup.
"Can backup objects, libraries, files, user profiles, etc named with alphanumeric characters. No special characters are allowed except for Code Page English CCSID 037 where the following special characters are supported: $, # and @."
Workaround
1. No work around. Need to resume the connection so that DS-Client could access the backup set source.
2. Uninstalled and reinstalled the recovery tool
